Robot Voltage Fault Detection
Robot Voltage Fault Detection is a monitoring technique used to identify abnormal voltage conditions in a robot’s electrical and electronic systems. Sensors measure the supply voltage of components such as batteries, motor drivers, controllers, actuators, and communication modules. The measured voltage is continuously compared with predefined operating limits to detect undervoltage, overvoltage, voltage drops, or unstable power conditions.
An undervoltage condition can cause motors to lose torque, controllers to reset, sensors to produce unreliable readings, or communication systems to malfunction. Overvoltage can damage sensitive electronic components, motor drivers, and control circuits. A voltage-monitoring system can therefore generate warning signals when the measured value moves outside the safe range. More advanced systems can also record voltage fluctuations and identify intermittent electrical faults.
Robot Voltage Fault Detection improves reliability and helps prevent unexpected shutdowns and component damage. A typical system combines voltage sensors, a microcontroller or PLC, threshold-based fault logic, and a visual or audible alarm. By continuously monitoring voltage and responding quickly to abnormal conditions, robotic systems can achieve safer operation, easier troubleshooting, and improved preventive maintenance.
