Project Introduction
The Smart Door Alarm is a simple DIY electronics project designed to detect when a door is opened and immediately provide an audible warning. It uses a door sensor or switch to monitor the door’s position and a buzzer to produce the alarm sound.
When the door remains closed, the sensor stays in its normal state and the alarm remains inactive. When the door is opened, the sensor changes state and sends a signal to the control circuit, which detects the change and activates the buzzer.
This project introduces students to basic concepts of sensors, digital input signals, electronic switching, and alarm systems. It provides a practical example of how simple electronic components can be combined to create a useful security device.
The Smart Door Alarm can be used as a basic security system for a room, cabinet, drawer, or storage area. Students can also extend the project by adding an LED indicator, keypad, delay timer, or microcontroller to create a more advanced door-monitoring system.
